Reminder: Our Ice Rink and Facility Grounds Are a Shared Space!
Winter is here, and the Upper Windermere ice rink is officially open! This beloved amenity is a cornerstone of our community, providing a space for fun, fitness, and connection. As we enjoy the rink and its surroundings, let’s remember that this is a shared space for all residents to use respectfully and responsibly.
Share the Schedule with Your Household Residents
The updated rink schedule is now available! To ensure smooth operations and avoid any confusion, please take a moment to review the schedule and share it with everyone in your household. Whether it’s family skate times, hockey slots, or maintenance closures, being informed helps everyone maximize their time on the ice.

Respectful Behavior is Essential
To maintain a welcoming environment, we ask that all residents and their guests use respectful language at all times. Whether you’re cheering on a game, chatting with neighbors, or teaching little ones to skate, let’s keep the atmosphere friendly and encouraging for everyone.
Keep It Clean and Safe
The facility grounds are for everyone’s enjoyment, so please ensure you respect the facility grounds, and clean up after yourself and your group. Dispose of any trash in the provided bins and leave the area as you found it.
Features to Enhance Your Experience
"Big Red" Rink Divider: "Big Red" is the perfect solution for managing the open ice timeslots. This brightly colored divider can be easily set up to separate family skating from hockey games. During this time, no nets are to be set up near center ice (only one net is allowed at the far east end of the rink).

Heaters by the Adirondack Chairs: Enjoy a cozy break between skating sessions with our outdoor heaters near the Adirondack chairs; simply turn the control knob on the wall. These heaters are ideal for warming up chilly hands and feet or relaxing with neighbors while enjoying the view of the rink. Please turn them off after use to conserve energy.
Ice Rink Rules and Regulations
To ensure everyone enjoys their time at the rink, please adhere to the following rules and guidelines.
Activity Designation: Respect designated times for hockey and recreational skating. Mixing these activities outside their assigned times can lead to accidents or conflicts.
Safety Gear: Helmets are strongly recommended for all skaters, especially children and anyone participating in hockey.
Supervision: Children must be supervised at all times, both on the ice and in the facility.
No Food or Drinks on Ice: To keep the ice clean and safe, please refrain from bringing food or beverages onto the rink.
No Roughhousing: Aggressive or unsafe behavior, including rough play and/or slapshots during hockey, is not allowed.
Equipment Use: Skating aids are available on site. Please return them neatly to their storage area after use.
Ice Maintenance: During designated closures, stay off the ice to allow for proper care and ensure the best skating conditions. These closures can happen with very little warning due to extreme cold or warm temperatures that compromise the integrity of the ice and/or glass. Keep an eye on your email, our Facebook page, and our website for most up-to-date information on closures and re-openings.
By working together and respecting these guidelines, we can ensure the ice rink remains a vibrant, enjoyable space for all residents. Let’s keep the spirit of community alive this winter season. See you on the ice!
