Rink Officially Opens for the 2024 Season!

The much-anticipated moment has arrived – the Upper Windermere Ice Rink is officially open, triumphing over the challenges of a breathtaking yet demanding fall. As we lace up our skates and embrace the winter chill, let's delve into the exciting details that make this season at the rink truly special.

Lace Up Those Skates & Hit the Ice This Season!

Weathering the Storm:

Nature threw its best at us this fall, and we faced some challenges, particularly with thin and soft ice in certain spots. But fear not, our dedicated team is working tirelessly to enhance the ice quality, battling the elements to provide you with a top-notch skating experience.

2024 Winter Facility Schedule:

We have unveiled the 2023-2024 winter facility schedule! Designed to cater to various preferences and age groups, the schedule offers dedicated ice time for tots and parents, open ice for recreational skaters, and a side for those wielding sticks and pucks. Whether you're into all-ages shinny or adult shinny, there's something for everyone. View the full schedule here, and remember, it's subject to change. Stay updated by checking your email, Facebook, and the website for any modifications.

Rules and Courtesies:

To ensure a harmonious experience for all, let's refamiliarize ourselves with a few important rules and courtesies:

  1. Weather Closures: The rink may be subject to closure during extremely warm or cold weather to protect both the ice surface and the surrounding glass. Notices may be sent via email, Facebook or the website, so make sure you're subscribed for updates.

  2. Safety First: Helmets are highly recommended, and skating is at your own risk.

  3. Sportsmanship Matters: Deliberate slap shots are prohibited, and any resulting damage may result in the resident incurring repair costs.

  4. Shared Space: No private events are allowed including team practices/ games, birthday parties, etc. A resident family is allowed to bring in a maximum of 5 guests at any given time. The rink schedule is to be followed at all times.

  5. Respect for All: Be kind and courteous to your neighbors and those using the facility! We are happy to report that our residents are respectful of the facility and their neighbors who use it. However, facility staff reserves the right to intervene if activities on the rink don't adhere to the rules. If there are resident(s) not adhering to the rules, they may face removal from the premises, with fob keys suspended. The Board will conduct a review, and residents will receive notifications accordingly. Let's all respect one another and have a great season!
